Wyoming's LTC Partnership program
Wyoming has an active LTC Partnership program. Wyoming has an active federal DRA-compliant LTC Partnership program with dollar-for-dollar Medicaid asset protection.
A Partnership-qualified policy lets you keep an extra dollar of assets, protected from Medicaid spend-down, for every dollar your policy pays out in benefits — see the note above for this state's current status. Learn more about how Partnership programs work.
How Wyoming treats LTC premiums at tax time
Wyoming has no state income tax, so there is no state income tax deduction, credit, or subtraction for long-term care insurance premiums to claim in Wyoming — a state-level tax benefit for LTC premiums simply does not exist here. This differs from most other states, which levy an income tax and then allow some kind of premium deduction or credit against it. The Wyoming Department of Revenue's own list of divisions covers only excise tax, mineral tax, and property tax, confirming the state administers no individual income tax program at all.

Medicaid long-term care in Wyoming
Wyoming provides long-term-care coverage through Medicaid's institutional program for nursing-home and swing-bed care and through home-and-community-based-service waivers such as the Community Choices Waiver, which serves older adults 65 and over and adults with disabilities who are on or eligible for Medicaid. To qualify for institutional Medicaid, an applicant's income must fall at or below 300% of the Federal Benefit Rate, and countable resources must fall within Wyoming's published Maximum Resource Standard, a limit the Wyoming Department of Health does not post as a single dollar figure in its public eligibility overview.
