What does long-term care insurance cover?
Help with daily activities across settings — home care, adult day care, assisted living, and nursing homes.
Long-term care insurance pays for help with the activities of daily living — bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, continence, and transferring — as well as supervision for cognitive impairment such as Alzheimer's.
Depending on the policy, benefits can be used across settings: care at home, adult day care, assisted living, memory care, and nursing homes. Policies pay benefits by reimbursing your costs, or by paying a set cash amount once you qualify.
